The Remington typewriter

As far as I can recall, Schmorell borrowed the portable typewriter (“Remington Portable” [Note 1] brand, serial number unknown) for the first time about 1-1/2 years ago from our family; I do not know who in our family lent it to him. His [Hans Scholl’s] sister (Sophie Scholl) occupied the same room from I believe it was the end of June 1942 to the beginning of semester break. Sophie Scholl was usually in her room only during the evening hours. She often read [books] and only occasionally received visitors.
