Grimminger’s last words to his wife

My wife knows nothing of the money transfer. Every month till now, I give my wife the usual housekeeping allowance. I do not talk to her any further about this matter [Note 1]. Merely after I was arrested, shortly before the train left Stuttgart, I told her when we were saying goodbye that I was needed in Munich due to a matter that was connected to the Scholl family, or rather that I was being taken into custody.

Note 1: Unclear from context whether he means the housekeeping allowance or giving Hans Scholl money.
